CROWN TRADE GOES TO FURTHER EXTREMES

Responding to strong demand from professional decorators, Crown Trade has launched a second Clean Extreme decorative coating for use in all types of heavily trafficked areas which are prone to soiling, scuffs and scrapes and which need to be able to withstand regular wet cleaning.

Building upon the success of Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt, Crown Trade has now introduced Crown Trade Clean Extreme Durable Acrylic Eggshell. The new coating offers all the durability, longevity, soil resistance and sheer scrubbability for which Scrubbable Matt has become renowned, but with an attractive low sheen acrylic eggshell finish.

 Now decorators can offer their customers a choice of aesthetic finishes for all high traffic areas and provide the ideal high performance solution for bathrooms, kitchens and other areas subject to condensation.

Brand Manager Debbie Orr says: “Both Crown Trade Clean Extreme coatings are formulated for modern living and working environments and will stand up to much more punishment than conventional paint finishes. They boast an ISO 11998 class 1 scrub rating, which means they can be used in areas that need regular cleaning. Even when they are scrubbed repeatedly with wet cloths, these tough and durable finishes won’t burnish.

“The Clean Extreme Durable Acrylic Eggshell cures to create a much harder film than a conventional acrylic eggshell coating because of the special binder we’ve used in the formulation. This binder is made of particles with a really tough outer shell which are more hydrophobic than those in standard vinyl acetate (VA) based binders, and when the paint is drying, a large number of chemical bonds are formed within the paint, and with the substrate being painted. This all helps to give the coating its superior durability, stain and scrub resistance.”

Crown Trade Clean Extreme Durable Acrylic Eggshell is now available in merchants and specialist decorating outlets. It is offered in White plus a range of pastel colours in a 5 litre pack and can be applied by brush roller and spray to give up to 14m²/litre depending on application method.
