As the audience sat with baited breath waiting to hear who was the lucky winner, Crown Paints John Shrimpton took his time opening the all-important golden envelope, racking up the tension in true game show style.
Grant Gibson, MD of JS Harvie & Co, was the name written on the card inside the envelope. As he was cheered onto the stage, loud cannons boomed and a massive shower of confetti fell from the rafters.
John handed over a set of keys and pronounced Grant the owner of the white Nissan Primastar 2.0 DCi SWB waiting in the wings.
JS Harvie & Co has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh & London and employs over 200 staff and tradesmen. The company has been a member of the SDF for as long as Grant can remember and he regularly attends the Annual Conference.
“I was obviously thrilled to win the van,” said Grant, “Next year is our 50th Anniversary, and this gives us an opportunity to start celebrating early! As our organisation continues to grow we are always looking to add to our fleet of vehicles, and as soon as the van gets back from the signwriters with its new livery it will be put straight into service. Thanks Crown Trade, this prize really couldn’t have come at a better time! “
