Causes |
- Excessive resin level/content
- Resinous species of timber
Resins are a natural constituent of timber, and, if present in excessive quantities, will inevitably result discolouration, disfigurement or blistering of the decorative coatings. The removal of excess levels of these resins prior to treatment will reduce the risk of these types of problems. |
Solution:Remove excess resin from knots and other resinous areas by the use of a hot air paint stripper. Care should be taken to avoid scorching the wood surface. |
