Crown Paints Builds Charity Partnership For 2014
A CANCER care charity is set to receive a huge boost after joining forces with Crown Paints – one of the UK’s leading paint manufacturers.
Macmillan Cancer Support has been announced as Crown Paints’ official charity partner for 2014.
The exciting partnership will see Crown Paints team up with Macmillan on a number of fund-raising events over the next calendar year, including the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Really Good Night In and many more.
Throughout February, Macmillan nurses and volunteers will be visiting Crown Paints’ manufacturing sites in Lancashire and Hull to introduce the charity and to educate employees on the services, care and support the charity provides across the country for cancer patients and their families.
Joe Devitt, Managing Director at Crown Paints said: “We chose to partner with Macmillan for a number of reasons, the main reason being the invaluable services and support they provide to those living with cancer.
“Over the years we have sadly lost a number of colleagues to cancer not to mention our co-workers, friends and families who have successfully beaten the disease.
“We look forward to working closely with Macmillan and encouraging all of our employees to get involved and to help make the partnership a success”.
To Macmillan, support is more than just fund-raising, it’s about giving time and listening to those who need it most.
But with donations making up 98 per cent of the charity’s income, partnerships such as the one with Crown Paints help the charity to provide the best possible support for those in its care.
Macmillan representative Seb Farrell said; “Having worked with Crown as one of three selected charities in 2013 we’re really looking forward to working exclusively with them this year, they have a dedicated group of staff who want to help us raise as much money as possible for the one in three people affected by cancer in the UK today.
“The money raised will go towards supporting people medically, financially, practically and emotionally, we’ll also be supporting staff at Crown with our Work and Cancer Toolkits to help with our ongoing mission to ensure nobody faces cancer alone.”
Since Crown Paints’ charity committee was created in 2010, more than £50,000 has been raised for chosen causes.
