GETTING HANDS-ON WITH THE DECORATORS FORUM
We’re no strangers to VIP guests here at Crown Paints – over the years we’ve hosted prime ministers, politicians and leading figures from businesses across the UK.
However, there’s nothing we like seeing more than giving people who work with our products day in, day out, the opportunity to see ‘behind the scenes’. That’s why we’re delighted to invite Mike Cupit of the Decorators Forum to our Darwen HQ to tour the factory, meet the lab technicians and learn more about the history of the company.
Mike joined us to discuss how we can work with the thousands of members of the Decorators Forum to help get the best out of our products.
But we knew how keen Mike was to see the paint-making process, so we offered him a full tour of our manufacturing facility where he could see the tins being filled. He also met with Kathryn Tormay, our product focus manager, in her lab where he had the chance to mix his own sample pot of Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt paint.
Mike was also given the chance to look at Crown Paints’ long heritage, meeting with CDC learning and development manager, Mark Bannister. Mark took Mike back through the decades, showing him older versions of packaging and products, and even some of the kit that decorators like him would have used in days gone by.
Commenting on his visit, Mike said: “It was a real pleasure to take a look at what goes on in the labs and factory at Crown. I was blown away by the level of research and development that goes into Crown’s products, and I’m very happy to have made my very first tin of paint!”
