LOOKING BACK OVER THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS
This year, we’ve invested in our product range and technical support services to provide customers with colourful and innovative solutions, as well as supporting regional and industry causes. Here’s some of our highlights from this year.
Supporting the next generation
We’re proud to have sponsored the Crown Paints Apprentice Decorator of the Year competition once again. Throughout the regional heats held this summer as well as the recent national final, as documented on our Facebook and Twitter channels, we’ve been excited by the passion and talent we’ve seen from all the competitors, and we can’t wait to celebrate the competition’s 40 year anniversary in 2019.
Containers going green
Our investment in innovation meant that this year we were the first paint manufacturer in the UK to launch paint containers made from 100 per cent recycled plastic. The containers, which are available across our whole retail range of 2.5 litre and 5 litre paints, are made entirely from post-consumer waste (PCW) plastic, which would otherwise end up in landfill. Highly sustainable, our new paint containers are completely recyclable once they’ve been emptied and cleaned.
We set the tone this year with our Product & Colour Guide, which streamlined our existing colour cards to create one comprehensive guide, designed with the professional decorator in mind. Containing key information and grouped into seven clearly defined sections, along with space at the back to make note of your product requirements, the Product & Colour Guide serves to make your job that bit simpler.
The Product & Colour Guide features our Historic & Classic Colours Collection – with a total of 150 colours across nine palettes, on a chip-mounted colour card – meaning it’s never been easier to create timeless designs.
This year proved to be a busy one for our in-house Colour Service department, who provided us and our customers with valuable technical advice and design guidance.
The team’s hard work culminated in the Crown Paints Exterior Colour Book, which offers a comprehensive yet easy to use guide for external decoration projects. The book not only addresses the key issues of meeting planning regulations and maintenance requirements, but also gives readers a taste of history’s most popular architectural styles and colour schemes. The book also gives a useful guide on long-lasting external decoration brand Sandtex Trade and superior wood protection brand Sadolin.
We’ve also injected more colour into our innovative water-based Fastflow Quick Dry Gloss and Quick Dry Satin trim products – which are now available in a wide range of mixed colour options. This high performance paint system combines the high quality finish of traditional solvent based paints with the quick-drying, low-odour and environmentally friendly benefits of water-based products.
Style plus substance
We’ve also invested in our high performance range of Clean Extreme scrubbable paints, with the addition of three problem-solving products to tackle dirt, mould and bacteria.
Clean Extreme Anti-Bacterial Scrubbable Matt, Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt and Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Scrubbable Matt are water-based and offer effective solutions to creating clean and hygienic surfaces.
We can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for us!
